Genesis 3.1 in a Snap

General notes about Site pages:
  1. Keeping the mouse more than one second over the images (with caption below) triggers image size increase. The image goes back to its original size once the mouse is outside the image area.
  2. Some images show Genesis OPC Explorer 3.0 in action. This is the case when the screens are identical between these two releases.
Genesis 3.1 is designed to connect a OPC Server and handle data acquisition in a very simple and intuitive way.

The different steps to reach the goal are explained here. Details for the different features are available from local links or from the main menu

  • Start

    Genesis Welcome View


  • Click on the Left Mouse Button

    Start by clicking in Welcome View


  • Click on the button 'Select OPC Server' of the Ribbon Category 'OPC Server'

  • Select the OPC Server by Expanding the OPC Servers Tree Items and Confirm with 'Ok'

  • Click on the button 'Add OPC Group' of the Ribbon Category 'OPC Server'

  • Edit the OPC Group Name (optional) and Select the Data Acquisition Update Rate (if required)

  • Click on the button 'Add OPC Item(s)' of the Ribbon Category 'OPC Server'

  • Browse the OPC Server Tree, select tag(s) and Click on the 'Add Button'. Repeat the operation as required and Confirm with 'Ok'

  • Click on the menu button 'Data Acquisition and Storage' or the the Ribbon Category 'Data Acquisition'

  • Click on the button 'Start Data Acquisition'

  • Keep the default selection 'Continuous Data Acquisition' and Confirm with 'Ok'

  • Check Data Acquisition (Number of Acquired Data, Next OPC Data Acquisition and OPC Performance Data)

  • Click on the menu Button 'OPC Data Listing' and Analyse Data Acquired in the Virtual List Control

  • Click on the menu Button 'OPC Data Charting' and Analyse Data Acquired Visually

  • Click on the button 'Exit' of the Ribbon Category 'Home'

  • Confirm the Request to Stop Acquisition by clicking on the Button 'Yes'
